What is our Root Chakra
Our Chakras are built on a foundation that is laid by our Root Chakra. This Chakra is the basis of our selves and the foundation for the rest of our chakras. In my experience, many soul retrievals are in the lower three chakras- which control our subconscious emotions, confidence and judgement. This chakra is the root of who we are as a person, and how we perceive ourselves and others.
The Foundation of Ourselves
The Root Chakra is located at the base of our spines and is the most important chakra to have in balance.
Think of your chakras like a house, if the foundation is crumbling or out of balance, the rest of the house is going to collapse and fall apart. So it’s important to repair that foundation and find balance within our Root Chakra, so we can build upon that to find a powerful inner peace and balance.
What are signs the Root Chakra is out of balance?
The Root Chakra is associated with security, a sense of belonging, trust and independence. This chakra is also responsible for grounding. So when the Root Chakra is out of balance, you are going to have feelings of being unwanted, unloved or frustration. You might also be the opposite, and feel bossy, greedy or have violent outbursts. It’s important to see these feelings and make the proper adjustments to even out this energy- or better yet, allow it to flow from your body.
How do I balance out my Root Chakra?
There are many ways for you to find balance in your Root Chakra. Balancing Your Chakra's Yourself
But I am a firm believer in self healing, and helping others heal themselves and make their own discoveries. When I balance my Chakra’s, I first focus on the Chakra itself. What does it look like? Is it rotating? What shape is it? What color is it? Is it dirty? Can I clean it?
The Root Chakra is supposed to be a crimson red color, because the Root Chakra is a 432 frequency- and the color red has a frequency of 430-480 THz.
So it is safe to say if you have a dark red, almost black chakra, that you are vibrating too low, and need to raise that vibration or frequency up until the color appears to be a normal red- like a fire truck red.
So- how do we do this? The real answer?? That is shadow work or a soul retrival. (Learn more about shadow work here) Because issues with our Root Chakra are typically linked with past trauma’s, childhood memories and believing in ourselves or feeling like we belong- these issues can’t typically just be willed away. They must first be brought into the light, addressed and healed before you can move forward past them.
There are meditations you can do to periodically balance out your Root Chakra and help you find temporary balance- but know that they will need to be repeated often until your underlying issues are addressed, and aren’t a permanent fix.
These meditations focus on bringing that color or vibration to 432hz – or that nice pretty fire engine red color. This means when a red is too bright or too dark, or when they color is a pink, orange, black or maroon that you are either above that frequency (Like when you are orange which is around 480) and you need to focus on bringing that energy down- by letting that energy go and ground yourself.
Or when you are too dark, and you are vibrating at a lower frequency than 432 (Like when you are Maroon or Black) You need to put some energy into the Root Chakra and bring that vibration up to that fire truck red. You do this by focusing your attention on the chakra, and focusing on that color.

Tips to help keep your Root Chakra in balance
Ground yourself every day.
Focus on allowing energy to flow from you, into the ground and away from you. Don’t allow energy to build up or become stagnant in your body, even if it feels painful to let this energy go. Energy that builds up inside us can cause outbursts, emotional turmoil or depression. Allow this energy to go from you- become the conduit for the energy, not a battery that stores it.
Work on Yourself
This might seem silly- because isn’t that why you are here?? But how many times to we read these posts, and think to ourselves “I don’t have any shadow work to do” or “There is nothing wrong with me, I had a perfect childhood”.
First I say- nobody has a perfect anything. There are issues you have underlying, even if you don’t want to admit they are there. You look in the mirror and you cringe, you call yourself fat, skin and bones or ugly. You are such a perfectionist you give yourself ulcers, or you are so lazy you quit before you even begin. No matter how perfect your childhood was, you have issues; you just either are ignoring them, denying them or refusing to see them for what they are.
You can not fix the foundation without actually getting the the root of the problem. If you have a serious problem with the foundation, and you duct tape it back together, that isn’t going to do you ANY good. Focus on fixing the issues, then rebuilding once you have addressed them.
I suggest meditating every night as you are laying in bed to fall asleep. Put in some headphones, find a guided meditation you enjoy and drift off to sleep to the meditation. Often times you will not only find a better nights sleep, but you will receive messages from spirit in your dreams, find some inner peace and balance too!
Epsom Salt Baths are a godsend. Seriously. I thoroughly enjoy my soaks in the tub with these bath salts (I like the Himalayan Pink Salt Epsom Salts the best), mixed with my favorite essential oils and some candle light.
If you aren’t much into baths- which I know some folks aren’t- you can still take care of yourself and find a little balance elsewhere. A nice walk in the park or nature, a good cup of coffee while you sit and enjoy it, or spending time with your pets are all great ways to help treat yourself.
